You paste your Stripe secret key into Recoverr's onboarding. We immediately register a webhook endpoint that receives all payment events from your account — failures, successes, refunds. No code, no infrastructure, no Stripe dashboard changes required. Your Stripe data never leaves your own Stripe account.

Recoverr receives webhook events from Stripe — we never store or touch raw card numbers. All data is encrypted at rest in our Neon PostgreSQL database. We are GDPR compliant and do not share any payment data with third parties. Our infrastructure runs on Render, which is SOC 2 compliant.

Recoverr handles soft declines (insufficient funds, card temporarily declined), insufficient funds, and expired cards — the three highest-recoverable failure types (together accounting for ~80% of failures). Hard declines (stolen card, account closed) and fraud blocks cannot be recovered by retrying — Recoverr identifies these immediately and stops retrying so you don't waste money or burn customer relationships.

Stripe's retry logic is rules-based — same interval, same strategy, for every failure type. Recoverr classifies each failure in real time and applies AI-powered retry strategy: exponential backoff (1h → 24h → 72h), optimal timing by failure type, and pre-dunning for expiring cards before they fail. Plus you get full analytics, daily digest, and a dashboard — Stripe gives you none of that.

After 4 retry attempts with exponential backoff, Recoverr marks the charge as exhausted and stops retrying. You pay nothing for exhausted charges — no success fee. The charge appears in your dashboard as "exhausted" so you can follow up manually or write off the revenue.

The 8% success fee is calculated on the amount Recoverr actually recovers — the net amount that hits your Stripe account as a successful charge, after Stripe's own fees. If Recoverr recovers €1,000 over a month, the success fee is €80. There's no minimum, no hidden fees, and no charges when no recovery happens.

Yes. Cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings — no questions asked, no lock-in, no cancellation fees. When you cancel, your Stripe webhook endpoint is removed and no further events are processed. Your data is retained for 30 days post-cancellation and then deleted on request.

Yes. Recoverr is fully GDPR compliant. We process only the minimum data necessary to perform payment recovery (customer email, charge amount, failure type, and retry status). We do not share or sell any customer data. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available on request. Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are available at all times.

The €20/month base subscription is billed monthly via Stripe. The 8% success fee is metered and billed separately on the first of each month for the previous month's recoveries. You see both line items on your Stripe dashboard. No surprises, no invoices — everything is visible in your Recoverr dashboard in real time.
